Integration Guide for Publishers

Dashboard

Dashboard Setup

Create your FairCite account and configure your first site to start tracking bot activity.

Prerequisites

  • Email address for registration
  • Domain name of your website
  • Access to your website's admin panel or codebase

Step 1: Create Your Publisher Account

Navigate to FairCite Dashboard

  1. Open your web browser
  2. Go to: https://dashboard.faircite.com
  3. Click the "Create Account" button

Complete Registration Form

  1. Name: Enter your full name
  2. Email Address: Enter your business email
  3. Company Name: Your organization name
  4. Click "Send Code"

Email Verification

  1. Check your email inbox for a message from developer@faircite.com
  2. Subject line: "Verify your email"
  3. Copy the 6-digit verification code
  4. Return to the FairCite dashboard and enter the code
  5. Click "Verify & Create Account"
Success!

You will see "Email verified successfully!" and be automatically logged into your dashboard.

Step 2: Add Your Website

Create New Site

  1. In the FairCite dashboard, click "Add Your First Site"
  2. Enter your site details:
    • Site Name: A friendly name for your site (e.g., "My Blog")
    • Domain: Your website domain without https:// (e.g., "yoursite.com")
  3. Click "Create Site"
Important: Save Your Credentials

The API key will only be shown once! Make sure to copy and save both credentials securely.

Copy Your Credentials

After creating your site, you'll receive two important credentials:

Site ID

pub_XXXXXXXXXXXX

Example: pub_hgo7d2trmjd6

API Key

sk_live_XXXXXXXXXX...

Long alphanumeric string

Store these credentials in a secure location. You'll need them for platform integration.

Step 3: Choose Your Integration

Now that you have your Site ID and API key, select your platform for detailed integration instructions:

Step 4: Verify Integration

Test Your Integration

  1. Complete the integration for your chosen platform
  2. Visit your website to generate some traffic
  3. Return to your FairCite dashboard
  4. Check the Analytics section for incoming data

What to Expect

  • Detection starts immediately: Bot detection begins as soon as integration is complete
  • Data appears within 1-2 minutes: Initial data may take a moment to process
  • Batching optimizes performance: Data is sent in intelligent batches for efficiency
